: : : : : : E:60 years today... what an amazing nation.
: : : : :
: : : : : dude, i agree but yer trolling for the loons, huh?
: : : :
: : : : E:Nothing's going on here anyways.
: : : :
: : : : Anyways, the failures too engaged in the idolatry of worshipping political messiahs who are going to "save" them by taxing the rich.
: : : :
: : : : : tell em why it's amazing, ede
: : : :
: : : : E:Sure will.
: : : :
: : : : Literally ~billions~ of people hate that tiny nation...
: : : :
: : : : ...according to UN records... Israel is by far the most condemned nation on the face of the earth...
: : : :
: : : : ...and yet Israel continues to exist...
: : : :
: : : : ...and that's nothing short of God's blessing.
: : :
: : :
: : : Well, that, and there's their hefty third party payer tax system (not to mention exceptionally generous gifts of US taxpayer subsidized foreign aid, most of which ended up in the pockets of munitions dealers).

: : : Israel Tax News
: : :
: : : 2008 Income Tax Rates
: : :
: : : January 2008
: : : From 1.1.2008 income tax rates for individuals are 10%-47%, compared to a top marginal tax rate of 48% in 2008.
: : : Israel's coporate tax rate for 2008 is 27% , compared to 29% tax rate in 2007. The VAT rate for 2008 remains the same as in 2007, 15.5%.
: : : In 2008 new double taxation treaties with Croatia, Ethiopia and Belarus will come into force.
: : :
: : : Negative Tax Reform
: : :
: : : December 2007
: : : The Israeli parliment approved on 18.12.2007 a new negative income tax reform.
: : : According to the reform , taxpapayers earning low income, but more than IS 1,730 per month, will get a cash grant paid directly by the government. The grant is given to earners aged 23 years or more, having at least one child aged under 18. For earners aged above 55 years, the grant is given for children above 19 years too.
: : : The monthly grant starts from IS 400 per a single parent, up to IS 800 per couple.
: : : The tax reform for employees is effective from 2007, at first covering only an area of about 20% of Israel. By 2009 the reform would cover all the population. For self employed people the reform would start in 2008, as a tax credit brought forward for the next years.

: : E:It's no wonder that Israel's tax system would mirror ours, for, as well as a military ally, they're our ideological ally and just about the only oasis of democracy in a desert of despotism.
: :
: : It's also no wonder that you would be jealous of any military support given to Israel... because you believe the money would be better spent funding your indolent parasitism.
:
: You don't read very well do you? Even though the basic income tax structure might be similar it certainly doesn't mirror ours. It is far more progressive than ours and the top end caps at a significantly higher percentage than ours. Then there's the value added tax which doesn't exist in the US. Even if you stretch definitions beyond meaning (something you've got loads of practice at) and try to equate a vat with a sales tax, their's is still over 100% more than all but the highest sales tax rates in the US.
E:Israel's taxation is the same as our system... there's just more of it.
:
: And by the way, why is it that you usually argue that our US tax structure constitutes a third party payer socialism, but now you somehow see a mirror of it as a basic tenet of democracy in Israel?
:
E:No. They just mirror our flaw.
: The only real wonder is how you can infer jealousy from a mere statement of fact. Besides, part of that fact I stated was that the military support IS parasitism...that benefits the munitions industry (which just happens to be among the largest political donors in our "democracy." Just a coincidence, I'm sure).
E:It's not an inference of jealousy.
I know what you live off of.
