  • February 2 (rescheduled from rainy January 20)
    The Backbone Trail - Past and Present
    Presented by Lynne Haigh and Jim Belsley.   After Lynne described how the 62 mile trail that traverses the Santa Monica Mountains was conceived and built, Jim led the audience along the trail, using photos and three dimensional-like Google Earth maps.

  • April 21
    The Malibu Tile Story
    Presented by Cristi Walden and Bob Harris.   Cristi gave a lecture and PowerPoint presentation, "If These Tiles Could Talk, The Story of The Malibu Potteries".   Bob, owner of Malibu Ceramic Works, described how he began his Topanga tile manufacturing business that produces replicas of tiles originally created by Malibu Potteries.

    A recent Antiques Roadshow piece showed a Malibu Potteries catalog.

  • July 21
    A Summer Evening at the Mountain Mermaid
    Owner Bill Buerge talked about the Mermaid's history, and visitors were invited to stroll through the Mermaid's extensive gardens.

  • Sunday October 17
    Annual Picnic!
    At "Kelly Gulch", home of Michelene and Frank Kelly, and former site of the Cheney homestead.   Potluck lunch at noon; program at 1:00.   For more information call the THS office at 310-455-1969.

The quarterly programs are open to everyone, free of charge.   No reservation necessary, just show up at the Topanga Community House at about 7 p.m. (or as shown above).   Bring a potluck dish to share.   The programs start at 8 p.m.
